As we wrap up another year and get ready for Christmas, I want to say a big thank you to all my family, friends and wonderful supporters.
I hope you’ve enjoyed the journey with me this year – with all its ups and downs, and breakthroughs and breakdowns! One thing has remained constant – a different outfit for each and every day! I am a busy mum with two energetic boys and I don’t have a lot of time to throw myself together (or much money right now) but I hope my sartorial choices have inspired you to break out of your comfort zone and try new things.
In case you’re wondering, I’m almost always in glam mode – the desire to pull an inspiring outfit together with great shoes, accessories and handbags is either innate or the result of watching mum, who has a huge fan base of friends and even teenage girls at church eagerly anticipating each and every outfit she styles with aplomb. Most of the time I have to do the best I can with flats and sandals as my lifestyle dictates the need for comfort. But every chance I get it’s all about a hot pair of heels . . . like these Wittner babies.
I truly hope and pray that next year is a time of breakthrough and refreshment for you guys and for me. This year has been a very hard slog, but as with all suffering and hardship, great things are borne out of these times. One of those things was discovering how much I love acting – my Nan used to tread the boards so it’s definitely in my blood. And I’m hoping to more than triple the amount of television and film work next year – it’s either that or get a real job!
Peplums, like the one on this lace Valleygirl singlet, were one of the biggest trends this year. This top is an oldie and I was fortunate enough to pick it up before the trend hit our shores. Embellished clothing (such as gold studs on leather jackets) has been another huge trend and is still going strong, with high-end designers like Prada now leading the way with diamante embellishment on clothes.
Here’s an embellished look from Prada’s latest campaign.
And another hot Prada number on the international runway.
I’m taking a bit of time away from the blogosphere, namely to pack and move house. I’ll look forward to catching up with you all in 2014. I hope you have a lovely Christmas and awesome New Year. And now you’re Looking Good Girls!
