When mum gave me this brooch for Christmas my first thought was, ‘what on earth was she thinking!’. But my creative juices kicked in almost immediately with the idea to put it on a ribbon and create a gorgeous choker.
And get ready because I’m anticipating this becoming the look de jour shortly. Major fashion powerhouses including Dior and Chanel are toying with large, colorful jewels including statement neck candy, complete with equally large matching earrings.
It was only a matter of time before jewellery followed fashion’s lead into outrageous, extroverted looks.
Interestingly, I was flicking through a high-end magazine today and noticed a bejewelled choker on a model. Just when you think you’re ahead of the fash pack!
Of course I had to start the new year with a major bargain and this Bardot LBD (Little Black Dress) fits that bill. I found it on holiday in the Paynesville op shop for $4. The sequinned, padded shoulders are bang on trend – reminiscent of the 80s which I swore black and blue I wouldn’t relive.
I’ve paired the LBD with my fave strappy Wittner heels ($180), Diva earrings and a colorful cuff, which was also a gift from Mum ages ago.
