I’m going to let you in on a fantastic slimming secret that will take inches off your waistline and won’t cost a bomb.
It’s called splicing and I’m not talking about Splice icypoles but rather spliced clothes, like this dress, which create an optical illusion and make you look slimmer.
The black panels create an illusion of a slimmer figure by drawing your attention into the centre where the patterned panel dominates. There’s plenty of spliced clothing around in the stores, in pants and some great dresses. A looser fit would be a better option for a fuller figure.
This spliced dress cost me a paltry $2.50 from Jay Jays and I had to rummage around their sales tables to find it. Jay Jays, like most stores, has a constant flow of stock going on sale and it’s worth rolling up your sleeves and diving into the piles of goodies.
Due to my current jewellery crisis I picked adornments I wouldn’t normally team with this dress. The gold neckpiece and bracelet are from Lovisa.
For the school run I swapped heels for these flashy sandals but if you want to elongate your legs and take things on the hot-scale up a notch or 10, then heels are a must.
I’m heading off to the ABC studios today to work on a television series called The Time Of Our Lives, playing the office girl again. I’ll give you a look next week at the outfit I’m wearing there – it involves liquid metallics, embellishment and tassles. Have an awesome weekend; and now you’re Looking Good Girls!
