If you’re anything like me when it comes to being creative with clothes, chances are this passion extends to your nails as well.
I have a large draw in my bathroom dedicated to all things nail related and it’s brimming with a myriad of nailpolish brands in a kaleidoscope of colours. But there’s always room for more . . .
‘Look at me’ is an apt name for this neon pink polish which I discovered on Monday for only $3 in a Woolworths supermarket of all places. It’s the perfect pink for the warmer weather and for me it conjures up images of alfresco dining, fun at the beach, entertaining friends and family on the waterfront, and the best bit of all – slipping into gorgeous summery dresses.
I’ve just painted two coats of this pink on my toenails so keep an eye out in upcoming blogs and let me know if you like it on. I always start with a clear base coat to protect my nails, followed by two coats of the coloured polish, then lock it in with a clear top coat.
And because I’m the frugal fashionista and love a good bargain, this divine ‘Blue Moon’ also landed in my shopping trolley!
I have my youngest boy Lincoln to thank in part for these new pops of nail colour. I normally shop at Coles, where I know I can pick up everything on my list, but Lincoln is collecting the animal cards from Woolworths, so until his book is filled with every last collectable card, you know where I’m heading.
Oh well, at least both supermarkets have a great range of fashion mags – like the latest Harpers Bazaar featuring the gorgeous Minogue sisters on the cover. It was a great read while my nails dryed and it came with a free Model Co 50+ daily face mattifying sunscreen. Slapping sunscreen on my face in the morning under make-up has long been an essential part of my morning beauty routine – a must if you’re like me and exercise in the elements instead of the gym.
“I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them.” Isaiah 42:16.
