Oh summer where have you been, after an arctic blast yesterday I can feel you knocking on the doorstep today and it feels so good!
I love the bitter-sweet of life; particularly the weather. The sad and sorrowful, unbearable and cold things in our life make the great and sweet things so much sweeter. After a freezing cold day yesterday that brought a thunderstorm and hail, it was wonderful to throw on a light summery dress and feel the warmth of the sun today.
And after filming a television commercial through the night, which included shooting outside in the bone-chilling cold, jumping into a warm king-size bed felt oh, so sweet this morning.
But the most poignant thing in life is to appreciate the special people in our lives. That was rammed home to me just a few minutes ago when a dear friend, who is also my mentor, phoned to let me know she had collapsed yesterday and was now resting in hospital after major surgery. I’m in a state of shock but it has magnified what a blessing beautiful people like her are in our lives. We need to honour and appreciate them because we don’t know what tomorrow will bring.
A couple of minutes after taking this photo, these brown spotted wedges, which perfectly match the dress, fell apart! You know I love a bargain but sometimes you really do get what you pay for. So I kissed them goodbye and promptly swapped them for these peacock-feathered sandals.
This patterned-dress is busy so I kept the jewellery minimal, apart from a bit of arm candy.
