If you’re bored playing it safe when it comes to accessorizing but you’re not sure how to get out of your rut then here’s 3 fail-safe tips for you:
1) Study the colours you’re wearing then select jewellery & shoes that highlight or complement your colours of choice. They don’t have to be an exact match but sharing a similar tone works best.
2) If the thought of an armful of bangles has you shaking at the knees then start small. Pick just one showy ring, or a bright bangle, or try a stylish cuff. If you opt for a standout necklace or neckpiece it’s the look du jour to pair it with equally attention grabbing earrings but if you want to err on the side of caution, choose matching ear studs instead.
3) If you’re colour-shy then start by painting your nails a bright colour. And instead of picking colourful jewels, choose silver, gold or rose-gold accoutrements. A handful of thin silver or gold bracelets with a few midi rings thrown together is a great look. If you’re feeling brave, try stacking on a few different shaped bangles or polish off with rings on two or three fingers.
I have all my jewellery on display which makes colour-matching with clothes easy. But because the collection is vast and continually growing, I sometimes forget certain goodies, so after taking these pics I swapped my silver Longines watch for a white Guess one and added a rose-gold midi ring. I’m also looking after my feet, so I traded the heels for patent orange sandals.
Despite feeling a little sleep-deprived today, I have plenty to smile about. We found a great waterfront house yesterday for a price I never dreamed possible and our move in less than two weeks has gone from being a burden to an exciting adventure. It all happened incredibly quickly – an hour after the beautiful girls at my ladies group prayed about it! And I’m still smiling after finding out my octogenarian nan – who has been bed-ridden for years with a horrendous mix of shingles and leukemia – is healed and has been dancing at an outdoor rock and roll show and spending up big on antiques!
Excited to see what tomorrow brings . . . and now you’re Looking Good girls!
