Today was a hard slog on just five hours sleep! But there’s nothing like an injection of color to brighten the day . . .
And I have to say, you can’t beat make-up, including a serious bit of concealer, to cover up the evidence of a long night. Unfortunately, the sleep deprivation was only partly due to a big night out. I had dinner with the girls from my connect group and our last Bible study. Our church is getting so big and it’s easy to get lost, so we have these little groups to facilitate friendships, support and nurturing.
I arrived home after helping clean up to find the washing needed hanging up! At least hubby got the bins out. Actually, to his credit, he’s usually pretty helpful around the house. Then one of the boys woke me up at 4.30 . . . and sleep eluded me for the rest of the morning!
When that happens I have a little thing I do that fuels me for the day. I speak out this scripture in the Bible: ‘I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!’. And no kidding, it works! They’re not just words, they are powerful.
Back to fashion, this multi-colored dress from Valleygirl was on a sales rack for $15 and I couldn’t resist. It’s rather short, so a layer of Dove fake tan was a must. Paired it with fuchsia Nine West heels, and Diva cuff and earrings. The best thing about it is you can wear pretty much any color with it.
Hubby was impressed with the ‘reasonably new’ addition. I promised I’d save the best part of me for him, so I’ve kept it on, even though I can’t wait to get into comfy PJ’s.
“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more.” John 15:1-2.
