This entire outfit is ‘vintage’ and cost me $10. That includes Jag jeans and Midas diamante kitten heels!
If you don’t know the Midas brand, back when I frequented Chapel Street, the last pair of Midas shoes I bought set me back more than $300. Yes, they are expensive, and yes they are gorgeous. I found these satin and diamante kitten-heel Midas shoes in an op shop for $3 last week and they look as if they’ve been worn once.
I found these Jag jeans there too for $3 and they appear brand new. The red satin Caroline Morgan top was $4 from a different op shop. The embellishment around the neckline epitomises what high-end designers have been doing with clothes this year.
I feel a bit like a Christmas bauble in this outfit with all the bling and satin. But sadly I am a tarnished bauble. Thanks to Mum colouring my hair with medium brown instead of dark brown, I now have a light brown strip along my scalp! This is surely the biggest faux pas one can make. My extremely thoughtful Mum offered to correct the mistake today but I couldn’t be bothered – choosing a quiet day at home with the boys over vanity.
The other great thing I’ve discovered is Avon mascara. I’ve been using Model Co because it’s the only mascara I’ve found that doesn’t smudge under the eyes. I used the new Rimmel mascara which gave me killer lashes but turned into panda eyes within an hour. However, I rummaged through my Estee Lauder make-up kit this morning and found an Avon mascara still in its box. So far there’s not a smudge in sight. If you’ve found an awesome mascara that doesn’t smudge please share it with us. And now you’re Looking Good Girls!
These satin & diamante Midas kitten-heels were $3 at the op shop.
