I thought I’d end the week with a very funny story about this dress. I went into labour the last time I wore it!
We’re talking more than eight years ago. My belly was huge, my ankles swollen and our first son wasn’t due for two-and-a-half weeks, but in the middle of our friends’ wedding upstairs at the urbane Brighton Baths restaurant, my waters broke. Fortunately, I made it into the ladies room.
Funnily enough, the bride was a doctor and there were a few medical people in the room. In extraordinary diva style, I rocked up at hospital with my hair and make-up done, and nails painted and told the hospital staff I was ready to give birth to my first child. They were tickled pink, literally!
Lashings of florals are currently in the fashion spotlight so it was only fitting to frock up in this slinky number today. I love the diagonal lace panel and the mixed floral patterns.
I had a terrific rummage in an op shop today so the dress was ideal and the flat sandals comfy. I’ll show you my loot in coming weeks.
On nails: Diva black with silver specks, which I must say is hopeless, it started chipping almost immediately so it’s coming off tonight. And now y0u’re Looking Good Girls.
“I am certain that I will see the Lord’s goodness in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and courageous. Wait for the Lord. ” Psalm 27:13-14.
Funny story Amber, and I bet you would find that dress difficult to part with given the sentimental value. You sound like you were perfectly dressed for child birth! I remember being horrified that that the nurses wanted to remove my freshly done manicure as they wheeled me into future lol
Of course I meant ‘wheeled me into theatre’ … darn auto correct 🙂
It’s very rude to remove a fresh manicure! Just jokes. I don’t think I’ll ever part with that dress though. xxx
