These are my lucky jeans!
I was trying them on in the fitting room a few weeks ago and found $10 in the back pocket. What a bonus – actually a blessing! That note paid for these jeans and a black snakeskin pair, which I’ll show you soon.
I’m not in the habit of keeping things I find but this unfolded in an op shop, so I figured no one was coming looking for the money any time soon.
A couple of weeks before Christmas I found $50 on the floor in a cafe in a very affluent area. My automatic reaction was to hand it in and the employee was stunned by my honesty. Turned out it belonged to an elderly pensioner who came looking for it a couple of days later.
That gave me some satisfaction but the biggest surprise came a week later when I was running alongside my bike-riding eldest son. He found a piece of jewellery in a public phone booth (the boys always check for money in them) which I thought he was going to keep. He disappeared for a moment then when I asked him what he was doing he said ‘Mum I put it back, you gave that $50 back so I thought I should too. Someone might come looking for it!’. I was gobsmacked.
Back to the jeans . . . I love the white-washed denim, the tie-dye pattern and the comfort factor is very high. I’ve paired it with this sheer wrap-around top. It is a subtle way of dipping your toes into the current oriental trend.
Threw on my white Nine West heels, Longines watch and Kailis pearl necklace and I was feeling very lucky indeed! And now you’re Looking Good Girls.
