This is true vintage style. This floral maxi is straight out of the 70s and was handed down from my fashionista mum to her protege, me!
It was in perfect condition until my oldest son walked into my wardrobe a couple of years ago with a pair of scissors. In typical testosterone-fuelled style, he sliced and diced the air and came to grief on this sublime creation.
Fortunately, a grandmother at school put me onto her relative who happened to be a miracle working dressmaker. He did such a remarkable job I had trouble finding his handiwork.
It is a blessing to have a fashion forward mum who had the foresight to store this maxi, and hand it onto me. I wish she’d kept more! I’m certainly looking forward to the jewellery hand-me-downs!
I lost my mojo this morning, albeit briefly, and took a few extra minutes to style this dress with jewels. I pared back the look with black patent pumps, diamond cuff and silver ball earrings from Colette.
Then I turned it up a notch with gold, gold and more gold – gold Guess watch, gold cuff ($3 in Just Jeans) and huge, flashy gold Diva hoops. And now you’re Looking Good Girls.
Which is your weapon of choice? The black . . . $40 on sale at the factory outlets . . .
. . . Or the patent pink Nine West platforms? These were $30 on sale at the Nine West outlet last year.
“I am the vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in Me and I in him produces much fruit, because you can do nothing without Me.” John 15:5.
Black all the way !
Hey Sanah, do you wear black? I have too much of it in my wardrobe and I’m doing my best to avoid it!
