Colour, and lots of it, is King! The latest high-end fashion magazines are clashing all sorts of bold prints. So it was with great delight I picked up this amazing and brand new jacket for $5 from the Balnarring Op Shop. Mum and I were taking my little guys, aged 7 and 4, to Pt Leo for a picnic and made a very productive stop on the way. Op shops have a lot of junk and can be quite daunting initially but if you have a keen eye, once you get into gear for a good rummage you can find some great goodies. The jacket speaks for itself, so I paired it with all white. These jeans were only $30 from Jay Jay’s. I tried on a pair of Sass & Bide’s which were four times the price, but they were too low waisted. Thankfully hipsters have been replaced by higher waisted jeans – the ‘muffin top’ paraded around by so many girls was not a good look. The little white top underneath was from a gorgeous shop in Noosa called Venetian Laundry.
I seem to have a penchant for Nine West shoes. These wedges are a couple of year’s old from the factory outlets. Unfortunately my youngest son Lincoln decided he liked the little orange leather strap that joined the ankle straps in the middle and took off with them somewhere, never to be seen again!
We are hitting our stride with bargains now! This perfectly on trend skirt was a $5 steal from the Chelsea pre-loved clothing store. After rummaging through my formidable wardrobe for a matching top I thought a purple hue would make a nice change. This is an old favourite, which I hardly wear as it has an elastic band at the hips. I picked it up from Valley Girl last year when ruffles were coming in.
These Marco Ferretti shoes are quite a few years old from a boutique in Hampton Street and they were not a bargain, but they are on trend. Sometimes it pays to hang onto things because they fit perfectly into the current sugar-sweet pastel trend.
This colourful animal print skirt was another $5 op shop find. I threw on a blue t-shirt to highlight the satin material of the skirt and because I wanted to show you that, despite all the high heels, I actually spend most of my time in flat shoes chasing around after my boys. These blue sandals are a perfect match and cost only $5 from Novo.
That’s great info. Uv given me some great tips on matching very bold items. U r a natural.
How about these colours…..AWESOME!
